1st September was final day of VICTOR Latvia International 2024. In morning sesion semifinals, later in the middle of day – Finals.
Half of the finalists were French players, they were invloved in 3 categories but they didn’t get any title in this tournament. 3 medals, all silver, all matches lost in 3 games.
The Finals were played on 2 courts. First as the winner match completed Nella Nyqvist (FIN). In 2 games with result 21:8; 21:14 was defeated Sophia Noble (IRL) in WS category.
Parallel on the other court in MD final Jonathan Dresp/Aaron Sonnenschein (GER) were superior to their opponents and with result 15:21; 21:18; 22:20 in “overtime” won first place over Thibault Gardon/Ewan Goulin (FRA).
In second final round both remaining double categories was played. After first game all viewers in their mind already crowned Agathe Cuevas/Kathell Desmonds-Chacun (FRA) as a winners, but Anastasia Khomich/Daria Zimnol (POL) thought otherwise and with result 6-21; 21-17; 24-22 took golden medals and first place in WD category.
In XD category our neighbors Kristjan Kaljurand/Helina Ruutel (EST) was playing against Joshua Magee/Moya Ryan (IRL) and Estonian players in 3 games won the Champion title of VICTOR Latvia International 2024 with result 19-21; 21-16; 21-15.
Last game in tournament didn’t disappointed all viewers. Aria Dinata (CRO) wanted to defend title he won last year. This was the fourth match in Finals with 3 games. Valentin Singer (FRA) was a worthy opponent and just in 3-rd game last points Aria made the final breakthrough to win match and get second title in MS category. Result of the match: 14:21; 21-12; 21-18.
